Meet Lisa from Hardmead farm
Hello! I’m so glad you are here.
Hello, everyone! I’m Lisa, a proud mother of four energetic little ones. As a military family, we’ve learned to adapt and thrive in various environments, and right now we’re calling the beautiful state of Texas our home. Our life here is a blend of adventure, learning, and a deep connection to nature as we embrace the farming lifestyle on Hardmead Farm.
Life can be a whirlwind with four young kids, but it’s a whirlwind filled with laughter, learning, and love. We’ve chosen to homeschool our children, which allows us to instill our values and passions while giving them hands-on experiences right here on the farm. Every day is a new opportunity for exploration and growth, whether we’re diving into a new subject, working on farm projects, or tending to our animals.
Our farm is the heart of everything we do. We raise high-quality, pasture-raised meat animals that graze freely on Texas pastures, living the way nature intended. This produces the healthiest, most flavorful meat possible for families who care about where their food comes from. We believe in transparency, quality, and treating our animals with respect.
We also grow a variety of fruits and vegetables, teaching our children the importance of healthy eating and sustainable living. It’s truly rewarding to watch them work alongside us and learn where their food comes from. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the taste of fresh produce straight from our own soil!
Our dairy operation includes Jersey cows that have become beloved members of our family. Daily milking is a chore I enjoy sharing with my kids – it’s a fantastic way for them to learn responsibility and appreciate the hard work that goes into producing food. We also raise chickens for eggs and have experience with various farm animals that contribute to our sustainable operation.
How I Met My Husband
My husband and I have been married for eight wonderful years. We met on a beach in Hawaii, and it was love at first sight. Our shared passion for adventure and family has been the cornerstone of our relationship. While he continues to serve our country in the Army, we’ve built our farm into a sustainable operation that works around military life. We’re committed to raising a healthy, happy family, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to stay home and nurture both our children and our farm.
Though military moves can be challenging, they’ve also taught us resilience and adaptability. Each new place brings fresh experiences and opportunities for growth, and we cherish the memories we create as a family. Texas is where we’ve planted our roots, and we love sharing the fruits of our labor with our community.
As I navigate the joys and challenges of motherhood, homeschooling, and farming, I’m excited to share our journey with you. I hope to inspire other families to embrace quality food production and connect with where their meals come from. Thanks for joining me on this adventure!
